“The personal relationship, the jokes, the tough conversations -that's why clients stay, and that's why I enjoy this work.”
Dean works with individuals and families across Sydney, helping them build wealth, plan for retirement, and manage major financial events like inheritance and divorce.
Clients come to us at all kinds of life moments. Sometimes it's straightforward planning for the years ahead. Sometimes it's much harder. I've worked with people going through divorce, grief, and big inheritances at the same time, sitting across from clients who are scared and uncertain about who they can trust. The privilege of being the person they turn to, and then watching them rebuild over the years, is something I don't take lightly.
The clients I work with the longest are the ones whose relationships go well beyond the numbers. They turn to me for big decisions. They share the highs and the hard times. Some have grown their wealth significantly over the years we've worked together, while others have found the confidence to retire earlier than they thought possible. The technical work matters, but what keeps people coming back is feeling genuinely supported through whatever life throws at them.
Outside the office, I'm a busy body. You'll usually find me on the golf course, on the soccer field, at the beach, or in the gym. My fiancée tells me I should chill out more often. She's probably right.
I did my undergraduate degree in the USA on a football scholarship. Four years of soccer and study, which was an experience I'll never trade. A current personal mission of mine is getting my golf handicap down to single figures before Stephen Gandy does.
